1. Who We Are

PixelDrift is a photo screensaver app for Android TV devices including NVIDIA Shield TV and Google TV, available at pixeldrift.tv and on Google Play (package: tv.pixeldrift.gallery).

2. Information We Access

Photos and Media

PixelDrift reads photos from your device or USB storage solely to display them as a screensaver — the core function of the app. On Android 13+: READ_MEDIA_IMAGES. On Android 12 and below: READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE. You may also select a specific folder via Android’s built-in folder picker, which requires no broad permission. Your photos are only displayed on screen and are never uploaded, stored by the app, or transmitted anywhere.

App Preferences

Settings (selected folder, slideshow interval, shuffle preference, display mode) are stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences and are never transmitted.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

PixelDrift does not collect, store, transmit, or share: your photos or media files, name or email address, device identifiers or advertising IDs, location data, usage analytics, crash reports, or any data that leaves your device. The app has no network connection, no backend server, and no analytics SDK. It operates entirely offline.

4. Permissions Explained

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (Android 13+)

Reads image files to display as a screensaver. A disclosure dialog is shown before the system permission dialog. If declined, you can still use the app via the folder picker.

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below)

Same purpose on older Android versions only.

5. Third-Party Services

PixelDrift uses no third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, advertising networks, or crash reporting. No data is sent to any third party.

6. Children’s Privacy

PixelDrift is not directed at children under 13. We collect no personal information from any user.

7. Data Retention

We hold no personal data. Local app preferences can be cleared via Settings → Apps → PixelDrift → Clear Data, or by uninstalling the app.

8. Your Rights

9. Security

All data remains on your device. No network transmission means no interception risk. We operate no server infrastructure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will revise the date above. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any updated policy.
